Nominated for Two Spirit Awards!!!!

We just got a call from Film Festival Bob who was watching a stream on IFCTV’s website where they announced the Spirit Award nominees, and our film was nominated twice. One is for the John Cassevetes Award which is given to independent films made for less then half a million, in our case of course considerably less. And the other award is for best Cinematography. So big shout out to everyone who did additional cinematography on the film: Bry Thomas Sanders, Jon Fordham, Andrew Peterson and Susan Buice.

The 2007 spirit awards air live on Saturday February 24th at 5:00 p.m. Est on IFC TV. There will also be footage of everyone walking down a red carpet, I suppose that will include us, on WE tv, and the entire event will be re-broadcast later that night at 10:00 p.m. EST/PST on AMC. Sarah Silverman will be the master of ceremonies which means there is a chance we might meet her. Awesome!

Whether we actually win the award will be decided by voting memebers of Film Independent so if anyone is a member, it could help us out big time if you vote. Also anyone interested can Join Film Independent which entittles you to seeing all of the nominated films which are listed below.

Also there will be a short film contest which is to make a video about what “independence means to you.” Check out ifc.com/medialab for details on how you can also be a part of the Spirit Awards with a short film that could potential Air on IFC TV. The deadline is January 19th 2007.
