Apes and Androids are playing at 11:00 pm tonight at the knitting factory in new york. They did the song in the first half of episode 8. I’ll be there but unfortunately Susan won’t since she’s visiting her parents.
Anyway, quick update, we did a meet up last week and met some new people who have been watching the video podcast, brainstormed some really great ideas for getting a ton of people to show up for the cinema village run. One pretty cool one was that people in college can get their RA to pay for a “field trip” to see the film. Get in touch with us if you need tips on how to make that happen. Also we can provide a free t-shirt and DVD of the video podcast to any RA who can make this happen.
Speaking of DVDs of the video podcast, if anyone in New York has the ability to screen some or all of the episodes of the video podcast, we can provide you with a free DVD-R that has episodes 1 to 8 and the trailer. Just get in touch with your address and we’ll pop it in the mail.
To those who have been printing and handing out flyers, thanks a ton, keep that up but soon we can also add stickers to the arsenal.
Also thanks to those who have RSVP’d we have 121 people coming the opening week. It’s really helpful to know how we are doing so please RSVP if you’ll be coming and enter in the number of friends you think you can bring.
A while back we quietly launched a page for people to sign up to get free stickers in the mail to post around town to help promote the project. It went good, people put the stickers up and took pictures of the stickers, but we ran out really quickly.
But now, a cool company Cachefly.net who does our super fast media hosting has also signed on to be our Cinema village sponsor so we have money to get plaster NYC with stickers. So we just put in a big order of stickers and we’ll have them monday. If you are one of the people who signed up to get stickers and your in NYC, this is it, you’ll be getting the stickers very soon.
Now for those not in NYC or if you are in NYC but like Crafts projects, we’ve posted the graphics in both color and black and white so you can make your own screen print and do what ever you’d like with them, make stickers, custom shirts, whatever. And don’t forget that the US post office gives away free sticky paper that you can screen print right onto. But for those who don’t have those abilities, don’t worry, we will eventually be getting more stickers out to more people.
