Help sort through the links and videos:

If you add the above Net Neutrality bookmarks feed to your feed reader and regularly look at new posts and then use delicious to bookmark and write a short comment about the article that was linked to and how it could related to the documentary and add the tags net neutrality resource and also add helpful tags like “video” or “mainstream press” or “personal story” or “comcast” or anything else that is helpful. We will be using delicious to see how many times a video has been bookmarked as well as reading all of the descriptions of the articles to get ideas for the relevance of each development around the net neutrality issue for the documentary.

DVD of this 10 minute version:

There are two ways to get a DVD of the 10 minute version of “Humanity Lobotomy”. One way is to download this .IMG file (which Cachefly.com is graciously hosting for free). Then you can burn the .img file to a DVD-R and it should work on most DVD players. The other way is to buy a copy of the Four Eyed Monsters DVD. You’ll get our film, “Four Eyed Monsters” which is the first feature film uploaded to YouTube as well as episodes 1 through 8 of our free online video podcast and of course we’ve included this video “Humanity Lobotomy” along with a video blog that was posted the night I discovered the issue of Net Neutrality.

React:

You can react to the above edit by either making a video comment or calling the comment line and leave up to a 2 minute message. If the current edit raised any questions let us know. Or if you have anything to add or simply want to explain your reaction watching it, thats good. Being both constructive and critical is fine. If you have any of your own stories to support the ideas in the video that would be really helpful, or if you simply want to explain what the internet means to you, that would be awesome. Don’t be afraid to go on a rant. If you upload your video to google video or youtube, tag it with “net neutrality” and also post a link to it below as a comment.

Embed

You can also embed the video to play on your page so they don’t have to leave your site if you’d prefer.
(check back for the html code in a convenient text box, in the meantime, get that code from the YouTube.

Download:

Download the above edit in

Windows Media and iPod codec and check back soon for a download as a DIVX file, avi, psp, cell phone, and .img and .isso for burning to DVD.

Re-edit:

You can download the media managed material for this edit as soon as it’s uploaded (check back soon) and then re-edit adding your own material, counter pointing the ideas, or creating a version of a different length.

Re-distribute:

All are welcome to do anything they would like with the above edit or any future edits you make. Put it on you web page, burn a DVD to show at a gathering, show it in a theater before another movie, play it at a cafe, show it to friends on a portable player, or even put it on television. We’ve put a creative commons license on the video so that you don’t have to ask permission, but it is cool to hear where it’s showing and that knowledge is part of the feedback loop, so let us know in a comment. If people start showing it all over the place on their own accord, then we’ll know the edit is really concise, if that happens on a smaller scale, it’s possible the edit might be something only certain people have the backround to understand.

Resources:

We are working on a list of resources of where we got all of this footage but it was put together so quickly there is a little back tracking to do in order to create that list. But if you search google video and Youtube for “net neutrality” you should be able to find the long version of anything you see above.

License:

Again, play this video where ever you’d like, no need to get a permission, by using a creative commons license we are public ally declaring an open license for anyone to use the video.

Put the feed to the comments of this post in a feed reader to find out about future activities and discussion around this video. You can also subscribe to our video podcast in a number of ways which primarily gives you Four Eyed Monsters Video Podcast episodes but from time to time we’ll post major enhancements to this open source video project as well.

Publicize:

Net Neutrality needs all the publicity it can get because major media companies, surprise, don’t want to make it a big story. So blog about it, call your local newspaper, if you work in media get your editor to let you do something huge about it and feel free to contact us at anytime for our input or to get quote on why net neutrality is important to us as independent filmmakers who use the internet to distribute our work.
